Tampa’s largest boat parade returns the Saturday before Christmas
Tampa’s largest annual boat parade takes place the Saturday before Christmas — and it is one of the best winter events in the city. This stunning display of decorations brings together the Tampa community for a festive and laid back time. That’s right, Santa rides a pontoon in Tampa.
It’s completely visible all along the Tampa Riverwalk, with prime viewing outside Curtis Hixon Park (600 N Ashley Dr), the Tampa Convention Center (333 S Franklin St) and Sparkman Wharf (615 Channelside Dr).
The event takes place December 21 and the festivities begin at 6:15pm. Boat registration just opened up, and you can secure your spot in the procession online. You can see a full parade map here.
Our Riverwalk is currently nominated or the best public holiday display in America by USA Today.
More major events coming soon to the Riverwalk:
- Nov 15: Winter Wonder Wharf
- Nov 22-Jan 5: Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park
- Nov 29-Jan 2: Holiday Spectacular
- December 1: Riverwalk Tree Lighting
- December 7: Santa Parade and Tree Lighting
- December 21: Holiday Boat Parade
